PHILIPPI, W.Va. – On Wednesday, Alderson Broaddus student-athletes Gino Sita and Ta'Sharra Jeffries have been named the AB Athletes of the Week for their success in the gym over the past week of competition.
 
Sita, a freshman wrestler for the Battlers, picked up his 26^th and 27^th victories this past weekend at the West Virginia Invite held at West Liberty University on Saturday. He earned a pin over West Virginia Tech's Bryan Overton in the opening round before topping Chance Morgan from West Liberty in the semis with a 9-4 decision victory.
 
In the championship match, Sita fell to Dalton George from Ohio Valley in a second-period fall. George is the top-ranked wrestler in the region and is ranked No.6 in the country at 174 pounds per InterMat. Sita now has a 2017-18 record of 27-3.
 
On the women's side, Jeffries had a strong week on the court for the AB women's basketball team. On Saturday, she finished with 14 points, four rebounds, and three steals in a loss to Malone and on Tuesday, Jeffries scored 16 points and shot 7-of-12 from the field while adding six assists and five rebounds.
 
This past week, she averaged just over 12 points per game, four rebounds, and three assists a game.
