Czelusniak and Waugh Claim Great Midwest Player of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS -- Quarterback Joe Czelusniak and wide receiver and kick returner Dante Waugh were named Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Monday morning for their performance in the Battlers 60-55 win over Malone.

Czelusniak completed 26-of-34 passes for 353 yards and tied a school record with five touchdown passes. His 76.4 completion percentage is a top five mark in Great Midwest history. Czelusniak added 32 yards on the ground for 385 yards of total offense.

Waugh set a pair of conference and AB records with 290 kick return yards including a 100-yard kick return in the first quarter. He averaged 48.8 yards per return which was the third best single-game mark in Great Midwest history.

The Battlers return to Hall of Fame Stadium this week when they take on Walsh in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
