PHILIPPI, W.Va. — This weekend the Alderson Broaddus softball team will open the 2018 season at Coker College.
"We have a very young but powerful roster this year, adding depth in areas we did not have last year," said head coach Rachael Mack. "Not only is the team prepare to compete this season, but they are very goal oriented and looking to have an impact season for our program and in the G-MAC standings."
The Battlers will take on the Cobras for a pair of games while also facing Mount Olive.
AB will face Coker at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning before taking on Mount Olive to follow. On Sunday, the Battlers will start with Mount Olive at 10 a.m. with the final game of the weekend against Coker at noon.

Lauren McMillen and Jenna Brandkamp are expected to both see time on the mound this weekend as well as Madeline Kalchik. McMillen is a freshman from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while Brandkamp and Kalchick return for their sophomore seasons.
In the outfield, Alexis Kimball returns for her senior season in centerfield as she hit .292 last season and stole 24 bases. In the infield, the Battlers are returning senior Alexxi Timmons who hit .315 a season ago as well as Samantha Turner, Miranda Garrett, Jazmine Martin, and Hadassah Curry.
