FAIRMONT, WV – The Alderson Broaddus women's rugby team won the Almost Heaven 7's Tournament at Fairmont State on Saturday.
 
The Lady Battlers won the tournament in dominant fashion with a 31-15 victory over West Virginia University and a 36-10 win over Fairmont State.
 
"The women's team has beat every college team in the state of West Virginia, if you include their win against Marshall University in the fall," coach Laura Miller said.
 
Miller noted that Divine Moore and Rebecca Rossi were key players in AB's victory. Moore led the Lady Battlers by scoring three tries and Rossi's conversion kicks helped lead AB on Saturday.
 
The women's rugby team will return to the field in Charlotte, NC to face Queens University of Charlotte and Lander University on March 29.
